Cultural Studies Office Moves from Posvar to Cathedral of Learning

August 19, 2014 - 8:00am

CLST and its sibling certificate program, Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, will be leaving their Posvar Hall quarters, where they have resided for decades, for a new space in 401-402 Cathedral of Learning, the former McCarl Center for Nontraditional Student Success, which will, under College of General Studies auspices, be moving over to Posvar.

While there are many fond memories of Posvar shared by all recent CLST faculty, staff, and students, the new facilities will be a marked improvement on the old, with a capacious seminar room and the addition of a smalled conference room, as well as light-flooded offices on one side of the facility.  The Director's office will be in the main hallway, in room 401c.

One key advantage of the move is that it brings us in close proximity with a another closely allied program, Film Studies, just down the hall.  The annual October Open House this year will serve as the formal house-warming of the new home, but do feel free to drop by before that to have a look.
